Some graduates also choose to work as independent consultants in the financial field. The following are just a few of the career options and possibilities for those who have successfully obtained an MBA with a specialization in finance.

Financial Analyst

Basically, the role of a financial analyst is to help corporations maximize their profits. Using data from the corporation, including their investment portfolio, the financial analyst develops detailed reports based on the financial profile of a given company. Then, by referring to these reports, they make strategic decisions as to how the company can better invest or manage their finances in an effort to increase profits.

Credit Manager

When working for a corporation, the credit manager is responsible for overseeing any credit that is granted to the business' customers, partners, or other individuals with a stake in the company. The range of responsibilities involved in such a position can be diverse. Credit managers may determine how much of a credit risk certain individuals pose, then decide, based on this, whether any initial or additional credit should be granted. They also set maximum credit limits and may also be in charge of supervising collection efforts to obtain funds that are in arrears.

Cash Managers

As a cash manager of a corporation, this individual has a great deal of responsibility. They are in charge of ensuring that all money owed to those who have provided goods or services to the company is disbursed both in the correct amount and on time. In addition, they are responsible for making sure that any funds owed to the corporation are received. Cash managers are also expected to regularly review the financial state of the company to decide whether it is in a good financial position, or if changes to operational practices or investments are required.

Chief Financial Officer

This is one of the most prestigious positions in any corporation, and also one that entails significant responsibility. Many MBA finance graduates aspire to obtain a position as a chief financial officer for a large corporation. They are responsible for all financial aspects of the company, including accounting and developing strategies to increase profits. In larger operations, they may also supervise other employees and assign tasks.
