Pepperdine MBA

Pepperdine University offers MBAs through the Graziadio School of Business and Management. MBA programs are offered at several locations, including Los Angeles, Pasadena, Malibu, and Irvine. Pepperdine University offers numerous options to students when it comes to the type of MBA they wish to pursue.

Part-time MBA

Pepperdine University offers several study options for working professionals and those who are already employed as high-ranking executives. The Fully Employed MBA, Executive MBA, and Presidential and Key Executive MBA are options for those who are presently working and want to obtain their degree without taking time off of work to study.

Full-time MBA

Those who wish to obtain their MBA by studying full time must attend the branch of the university that is located in Malibu. The school offers students the opportunity to complete their MBA in as little as 12 months. To be eligible for this accelerated program, students must have at least three years of work experience and must complete several courses before they begin the program, including financial accounting, marketing management, and macroeconomics. All students are required to complete what the university classifies as core classes. In addition, students must also complete several electives, and most focus on the areas of marketing, finance, and leadership/management. Those who have not completed the prerequisites for the 12-month program, but have the required work experience, can earn their MBA in 15 months.

A two-year MBA program is also offered. The core classes and the available electives are the same as those offered in the accelerated programs, but students can also choose to pursue a specialization in business areas such as finance, marketing, and dispute resolution.

Full-time students can also pursue dual degrees. In addition to their MBA, they can study for their Master of Public Policy (MPP) or their Juris Doctor (JD) degree at the same time. These programs take longer to complete. A joint MBA/MPP will take three years, while a joint MBA/JD will take four.

A further option is the international MBA, which takes two years to complete. Students take most of their MBA courses at Pepperdine, but spend one semester overseas, where they will study at a partner university.

Pepperdine does not rank as highly as other universities, and its course selection cannot rival Ivy League institutions, some of which give students the opportunity to choose from well over 100 electives. However, the small class sizes, lower cost, access to company job postings through the career services department, and flexible program options make this AACSB-accredited institution an attractive choice for many prospective MBA students.
