This is a leadership position managing various components of marketing (mostly focused on driving new customer acquisition) for the Peachtree Accounting and Simply Accounting product lines. Functional areas underneath his or her domain include creative services/MARCOM, brand management, web strategy and roadmaps, retail marketing, and lead generation for direct acquisition channels.

We are looking for an experienced marketing leader who has the optimal balance between strategic thinking and execution. He or she must possess strong leadership skills that result in a high morale, results driven organization that is closely aligned with adjacent components of the business (such as sales & product management). He or she will share revenue responsibility for the channels they support (such as web and primary direct).

This position will have a solid line reporting into the General Manager for the Small Business Accounting Solutions business and dotted line reporting to the Simply Accounting General Manager based in Richmond. This individual must be independently driven, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and willing to travel on occasion.

The candidate will provide strategic direction for Simply and Peachtree\'s new customer acquisition programs while driving execution through effective leadership of cross functional teams (both remote and local). It is critical that this individual be familiar with operating in a matrix environment, and effective in communications that span geographical and functional boundaries.

Drive new customer acquisition revenue & units from retail and Sage\'s direct channels for Simply & Peachtree (new product sales & web).

Define and implement appropriate web strategies to drive revenue growth on Peachtree.com and Simply.com. This includes building an effective social media marketing strategy that reaches our target audience, delivering the right messages to drive low cost customer acquisition.

Support and require adherence to building the Sage brand identity while working closely with product management to ensure product brand positioning is compelling and differentiated in the market space. This also includes acting as the SBAS liaison to marketing at the NA level on brand related topics.

Devise and execute a holistic primary marketing and messaging strategy and budget across all new customer acquisition channels
Work with the General Manager and Installed Base Marketing team to recommend Pricing Strategy.

Identify Primary Marketing Best Practices used by other Product Lines in the Sage group, that can be leveraged by Simply Accounting & Peachtree Accounting

As a member of the Small Business Accounting Leadership team, monitor competitive and market activity, and provide overall strategic on how to better compete and accelerate acquisition of new customers

10 or more years experience in marketing, preferably gaining expertise across a variety of marketing disciplines
Effective track record in leading results oriented marketing teams that are closely aligned to the broader organization
Four-year degree (BA/BS) required; MBA a plus but not necessary based on candidates real world experience level
The qualified candidate will have demonstrated success in strategic marketing disciplines and proven execution of these initiatives.
The candidate must be strong analytically (business model building, results tracking and interpretation), have excellent written and oral communication skills, the demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, and is highly organized and driven to succeed.
Software sales/marketing, small business sales/marketing and/or retail channel marketing with either business or consumer goods experience is considered a definite asset.
