Carrier is seeking an Accounting Manager for a recently acquired company based in the Houston area.

Reporting to the Finance Manager for Global Service Operations, the person will be responsible of the financial reporting and day-to-day operations of the finance department and directly supervising 3 employees.

Main responsibilities and duties include (not limited to):
- Maintain general ledger and manage monthly closing
- Preparation of the financial statements in accordance with local, UTC and Carrier policies and generally accepted accounting principles. Ensure compliance with UTC and Carrier schedules for consolidation reporting; Sarbanes Oxley compliance and adherence to GAAP standards, etc.
-Respond to questions and requests for information from Carrier and UTC headquarters on financial results.
-Supervise the day-to-day operations of the finance team in place (A/R, A/P, Payroll) and play a key role in the approval of operations (check, credit limits, credit notes, p/o).
-Maintain a system of internal accounting controls adequate to safe guard the assets, prevent waste and assure compliance with UTC and Carrier policies and applicable laws and regulations pertaining to financial matters including monthly account reconciliations.
-Support the finance manager on the forecasting process, annual plan and on special projects.

REQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelor degree required (accounting and or finance)
-MBA or advance degree in accounting/business administration a plus
-Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the accounting field
-Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley
-Knowledge of Great Plains and HFM would be a plus
-Solid communication skills and the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment are critical.
