(RCI) is an ecommerce business founded in 2007 focused on leveraging the advantages of the internet to provide innovative sales channels for product vendors and brands while offering an exciting and engaging shopping experience for its customers and members. RCI acquired SmartBargains, Inc. in December 2007 and is currently running two ecommerce businesses as follows:
SmartBargains.com is an online, off-price retailer serving the value conscious customer. SmartBargains.com provides an assortment of branded merchandise in categories such as home products, apparel, jewelry, and shoes. SmartBargains, Inc. was incorporated on February 29, 2000 and launched its website on April 15, 2000 (“www.smartbargains.com”).
RueLaLa.com is an invitation-only, private sale site focused on fashion and home products. The private sale model provides consumers exclusive access to scheduled sales of upscale brands. Each private sale is brand-specific, lasts approximately two days and features current-season merchandise. Access to RueLaLa.com is by invitation only, driven primarily by user-generated membership (“www.RueLaLa.com”). RueLaLa.com officially opened for shopping on April 9, 2008.
RCI will continue to develop new and innovative ecommerce concepts that meet the needs of our stakeholders, that are complimentary to our existing businesses and that leverage our existing resources.
Title: Director, Customer Analytics
Purpose and Scope:
The Director, Customer Analytics will be responsible for leading customer & business analytics at Retail Convergence, Inc. The ideal candidate has successfully used customer analytics to identify business opportunities and shape strategy. He/she has the technical skill set needed to dive in and perform analysis as well as the marketing savvy to lead the successful application of the data.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Provide reporting & analysis to identify strategic trends and actionable customer insights based on a clear understanding of business objectives.
• Analyze the customer file to identify marketing opportunities, segmentation and targeting strategies for acquisition, retention, loyalty, and business development efforts.
• Produce reports and presentations to communicate statistical and financial findings to various levels of the organizations.
• Continuously recommend new and better ways to use customer data to improve business.
• Collaborate with marketing, merchandising, operations and finance to quantify business needs and produce relevant, actionable data.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• BA or BS degree, MBA preferred
• 5-8 years experience in database marketing analysis including response analysis, ROI analysis, segmentation analysis and customer profiling
• Internet marketing and retail experience with B2C preferred
• Creative thinking and exceptional analytical skills coupled with solid business foundation
• Experience with business intelligence systems such as Cognos and analysis tools such as SAS
• Ability to investigate business challenges to provide the best possible solution
• Ability to communicate with Senior Management, business users and technical developers
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to deliver projects and results within tight timelines
