Director of Acquired Asset Analysis, Minneapolis, MN
Job Description:
Senior manager level position reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer responsible for strategic direction and leadership in developing an acquired asset accounting team to deliver successful integration of acquired assets into the Banks\' risk management and reporting infrastructure by timely executing the integration program, tracking and managing issues and risks, completing key deliverables and cross-team information exchanges on a timely basis. Exercises a great deal of judgment, and has decision-making authority that may have significant impact on the business unit. Oversees and provides direction to valuation, accounting and reporting staff. Will typically manage 3-5 direct reports.
Job Responsibilities:
* Customize the integration methodology to meet the nuances of new transactions by continuous modification/adaptation of the program methods, project plan, PM tools and deliverables, track lessons learned and key success factors from each acquisition, and develop integration capabilities within banks through knowledge sharing and strategic staffing of roles
* Launch and oversee the Acquired Asset Accounting Integration function and develop the Governance model by building and launching work streams around the key processes and activities-Valuation, Accounting operations, FDIC Certification, Credit and Specialized Accounting and Reporting. Creating the project management toolkit and constructing and managing a knowledge sharing process and repository.
* Manage deliverables and key information exchanges between Valuation, Accounting, Reporting, Credit and Executive to support a streamlined interim reporting process.
* Support M&A activities prior to transactions by incorporating acquired asset accounting and valuation knowledge into the decision-making activities.
* Create and manage an issue and risk management process.
* Build a communications and change management process to manage stakeholder concerns, issues and needs.
* Maintains required subject expertise in new accounting and reporting requirements, policies and procedures and knowledge of technological advances applicable to integration activities.
* Coaches and provides strategic direction and leadership to acquired asset accounting integration team in order to pursue efficient performance for each acquisition. Manages team\'s productivity to specific goals.
Required Experience
* Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or Finance
* 10-12 years of relevant experience
* 3-5 years supervisory experience
* Financial industry and past merger integration experience
* Strong leadership and persuasive skills, comfortable conducting meetings with senior leadership
* Self-motivated and driven by deadlines, highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
* 5-7 years of experience managing large, complex, multi-work stream projects
Preferred Qualifications:
* Track record of demonstrating strong change agility and ability to adapt to changing requirements in high demand environments
* Strong skills in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint with basic knowledge of MS Access, MS Project and SharePoint
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Previous experience in banking integrations, particularly asset integrations is an advantage
* Knowledge of accounting information systems and processes are an advantage
* MBA, CFA or CPA credentials are preferred
Compensation:
$150,000 - $200,000
