Business Development Manager
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, you will be responsible for the development, growth and maintenance of our company client base, with special attention to key accounts and assigned Life Sciences vertical. Also, you will be responsible for procurement of new business from leads generated by website, advertising, trade shows and client referrals.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to inbound new sales inquiries in a timely and service-oriented manner
- Aggressively pursue new business opportunities with both prospective and existing clients, by proactively identifying client needs and additional opportunities
- Actively develop client base through research, prospecting, lead generation and referral
- Represent the company and its services at selected trade shows and work with the Design and Event Coordinator to prepare for these events
- Maintain sales records and contact management in Salesforce.com accurately, effectively and in a timely manner
- Prepare and communicate project estimates, quotes and proposals; utilize quote prep performed by others to communicate estimates to clients within 24 hours of request when possible
- Ensure that customer care team is informed about schedule and whereabouts and arrange backup for absences; back up other account managers in their absence
Qualifications:
- Sales experience in the translation/localization industry HIGHLY preferred
- Experience in Life Sciences vertical highly desirable
- Proficiency in MS Office is a must and Salesforce.com desirable
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited four-year college or university, as evidence of a broad education and ability to deal with diverse situations and people
- 3-5 years of experience in account management, services sales and customer service required
- MUST be able to travel as needed (about 25%, including overnight travel)
- Familiarity with Customer Centric Selling preferred
- Solid understanding, knowledge and skills in sales techniques and practices; proven ability to sell to decision makers at various levels within client organizations
- Ability to qualify, identify and clarify client needs through effective questioning and listening
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information and evaluate external client needs
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and telephone skills and ability to maintain, strengthen and develop client relationships
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Strong ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision
